Problem:

Your company spends a lot of money to increase brand awarness. However, no matter how good your branding, people still fail to type your URL into their browser correctly. When this happens 1 of 3 things happens:

The user get a page not found screen:

This does not help your user. All this tells them is they do not have the correct web address. From here the user will probably try to look for their typo or go a search. Either way you run the risk or loosing that user to someone else.

Typosquatter:

Take HomeDepot.cm for example. The user is trying to go a home imporvment website. Insead they are sent to a page that asks them for personal infrmation. Why knows who is collecting this information or what they will do with it. Furthermore will the user make it to your site? Worse: will the user think this IS your site?

Similar to the Typo Squatters often ISPs like Comcast do not just return errors. Insead they show the user a page they argue would help. Sure it may have your link on it, but its probably also has search results and PPC listing from your competitors. Again do you want your customer getting lost here?

Solution:

We use our knowlege of common typos to generate a list of domains that your users may be visiting. Then we purchase those domains and redirect them to the correct site. This protects you from ISPs and Not Found pages and pre-empts typosquatters that may harm your brand.
